School Description
In the 1999-2000 school year, Lincoln Elementary had approximately 200 students in ECE (early childhood education), and kindergarten through 5th grades. It serves the West Washington Park neighborhood and is located at 710 South Pennsylvania Street. Lincoln Elementary is designated as a historical building, with the initial eight-room structure erected in 1891. The school’s property boundaries are Exposition Avenue to the north, an alley to the south, South Pearl Street to the east, and South Pennsylvania Street to the west.
Learning Landscapes Description
This historic building provided many inspirations for design including a complimentary shade structure and strong axial geometry to aid in outdoor circulation throughout this seasonally themed playground plan.
